The Research and education center

of Bioenergy

The project Research and education center of bioenergy is realized in premises of PD Kapušany by Prešov in cooperation with The University of Economics Bratislava and The Technical Unversity Košice. The integral part of VVCB is a biogas plant with the capacity of 180 kWh with automatically monitoring and evaluation of the operational parameters of inputs and outputs. Research and Education Center will perform the role of a wide open forum for information, professional orientation and formation of opinion.

The Research part of the projects is focused on

- increasing amount of information about technologies of biogas, heat and fuels production and their differences from other techniques of energy production

- implementation primary, secondary and other soils, rationalization of production processes and renewable raw materials in the conditions of the disadvantaged regions, research parameters of technological processes when using different types of renewable raw materials, determination of efficiency of electricity, heat and fuel

- economic analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of energy carriers

- research of fast-growing trees and special crops for heat, power and fuel production

Applied research is focused on:

A. Research of biogas technologies

Research of biogas plants and improvement of capacity, efficiency and effectiveness.

- research of content of the substrate- biological- chemical analysis

- research of energy crops for anaerobic digestion and biogas production

- research and utilization of agricultural waste for biogas production

B. Research of using of wasteheat from biogas plants to dry agricultural crops

- for heating, hot water and cooling

- practical application- construction of Chambers drier for agriculture

C. Applied research of energy plants seeds for the production of bioethanol, biodiesel

- knowledge transformation into practice

- use of biofuels and their testing with car dealers and agricultural machinery

D. Basic and applied research in the chain

- soil - soil analysis - fermenter - fermentation tests

- agriculture - analysis - Treatment

- reactivation of wastes for reuse in the fermentation

E. Applied research of three-level biomass combustion technology

- three-level combustion furnace (wood chips, pellets, briquettes)

- research of calorific value of biofuels, the amount of flue gas, ash content and content of pollutants in the air

F. Applied Research of drying - chamber-shaft driers for use of waste heat from the cogeneration unit -biogas plantof capacity of 250 kWh, 300 kWhh, 500kWh, 1000kWh (drying plants, wood chips and waste clover and the sorting of cereals and maize). 2015: Implementation of research in PD Choňkovce

G. Applied research of optimum use of waste for the production of pellets and briquettes.

H. Applied Research in Quality of burning and combustion of briquettes and pellets by burners designed for biomass boilers.

- application of technology for biomass boilers in practice. Analysis of burning, ash content, and leak of pollutants into the air. Research cooperation with the company KOVO sro, Raslavice, Bardejov district

I. Applied Research of cultivation, harvesting and processing of new prospective varieties of energetic plants and trees for the production of biofuels, anaerobic digestion processes and for the purposes of thermal combustion cooperation with VU Agro - ecology Michalovce, PD Choňkovce.

J. Applied research of energy development of specific villages within the Prešov and Košice county.

In connection with the implementation of Act no. 654/2004 and use of potential land, forest and organic waste for energy production in terms of the European Commission on the protection of the natural potential of land, water, forest and climate protection.
